Collection: YEUNG Hok-tak

Tak was born in 1970 and grew up in Hong Kong. After secondary school,
he pursued studies in illustration and graphic design at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (formerly Sha Tin Technical institute) and worked in related fields.


Tak's comic career began in 1998, with the publication of his cartoons in Cockroach Quarterly. His debut personal graphic novel "How Blue was my valley", 2002, received high attention on the local and international comic scene, with a French language edition published in 2007.


Since 2004, Taks' weekly comic section "Biu Tung Wa Jap"-"The Psychics Fairly Tales" have been collected and published in six book format issues, along with two books of his comic strip "Bak Gwei Kat Cheung"-Cool Blooded Theatre". In 2010, Tak worked as Art Director on the movie "Medull: The Pork of Music", the renowned Hong Kong animation series.


In 2013, he was selected with Mel Stringer from Australia to exhibit works at FOIL Gallery in Kyoto, Japan. The exhibition "Mel Tak Show" was curated by Yoshitomo Nara.
