When it comes to Mokuhanga (Japanese Woodblock Printing), everyone must think of the masterpiece of ukiyo-e, "The Great Wave off Kanagawa" by Katsushika Hokusai, with its rich colour layers. So, how was such a masterpiece printed?

This workshop invites printmaker Wuon-Gean Ho, who has studied mokuhanga in Japan, as the instructor. She will introduce the tools and techniques of mokuhanga and share her experience in creating animated prints. In this three-day workshop, participants will learn the carving and printing techniques, create monochrome and colour works, and produce streaming images using mokuhanga.

This summer, why not take a moment to experience the rendering between woodblocks, water, pigments, and washi paper, and create delicate and colourful prints?
